GLENBURN DAIRY HISTORY Glenburn Dairy was originally started from Langholm Farm, Symington, by the Blacks in 1903, the same year that Vauxhall and Ford were established. In 1913, the dairy was relocated to Loans where the new dairy and house were built. The Black family continued to run the dairy until 1961. The business changed hands twice before the present owners, the Archibalds, took over in 1965. On 7th February 1981, Glenburn was the first dairy in the whole of the UK to deliver semi-skimmed milk to their customer's doorsteps. The milk was supplied by Scottish Farm Dairy Foods Ltd. All grades of milk and dairy produce can be supplied to the Troon area. We have also been newsagents for over 40 years. |
